Paperback Dreams Event at McNally Jackson on Nov. 14th
WHEN: Friday, November 14, 2008 at 7 pm
WHERE: McNally Jackson Books (52 Prince Street)
WHAT: Paperback Dreams is a documentary film that tells the story of two landmark Bay Area independent bookstores – Cody’s Books and Kepler’s Books – and their struggle to survive.
Join the IBNYC for a screening of the film at McNally Jackson. The screening will be introduced by producer/director Alex Beckstead, and followed by a panel discussion with the owners of some of New York City’s own landmark bookstores: Chris Doeblin of Book Culture, Jo Steffens of Urban Center Books, Susie Lupert of HousingWorks and others.
The event is hosted by the Independent Booksellers of New York City (IBNYC), a new alliance of independent booksellers working to promote New York City’s rich bookstore culture.
